The Rutgers University EcoComplex was recently featured in an article written by Ashley Halligan, an analyst at Software Advice. Her article, titled Resource Recovery Facilities: An Economic And Efficient Energy Supply, demonstrates the symbiotic relationships between resource recovery facilities and the businesses who benefit from the energy production stemming from landfill gas. Her article cites several successful American examples including ours--as well as Catawba County, North Carolina's EcoPlex and BMW's manufacturing facility in South Carolina. All three projects share mutual goals, yet have very unique partnerships. The Rutgers Assistant Director for Bioenergy and Controlled Environment Agriculture, David Specca, provided insight for Halligan's article, including the following powerful quote: “We believe the opportunities for these relationships is wide open–from waste sorting, processing, and gas cleanup-to alternative energy technology development, sustainable product development, and renewable energy production–there is a lot to be invented yet.” ............................................................
